Naval dockyards do not (repeat not) employ any minor staff on monthly rates of pay below clerical grades, and proposed adjustment will merely have offect of bringing emolumente of Govs ronans menthily paid minor staff up to total sarned by dockyard daily paid staff.
I can therefore give required assurances. I cannot however guarantee that if modified high cost of it allo jere given with effect from 1st January 1947 there woul dail
aid Iebour in dockyards and in the Colony generally L for similar retrospective adjustment.
